- Unitarian Universalist since birth in 1959; 
- a former assistant professor of philosophy;
- proud Dad of Morgen, John, and Yency (all adults now);
- since 2000, blissfully wed to Rev. LoraKim Joyner, now a UU community minister;
- since 2001, a Zen practitioner and student;
- since 2004, a UU minister: have served congregations in El Paso, TX; Midland, TX; Tarpon Springs, FL; Marion County, FL; Gainesville, FL; and now White Plains, NY.
- 2006 - 2013, led the Dancing Crane Zen Center in Gainesville, FL
- 2013 - present, minister serving Community Unitarian Church in White Plains, NY.
